The 4Cs of Diamonds
Cut
Most ImportantCut determines how much a diamond sparkles. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating that signature brilliance. We recommend prioritizing cut grade above all other factors.
Excellent → Very Good → Good → Fair → Poor
Color
Second PriorityDiamond color is graded on a D-Z scale, with D being completely colorless. For most settings, diamonds in the G-I range offer excellent value — they appear white to the naked eye.
D (colorless) → G-I (near colorless) → J+ (faint tint)
Clarity
Third PriorityClarity measures internal inclusions. VS1-VS2 diamonds are "eye-clean" — inclusions are invisible without magnification. This is the sweet spot for most buyers.
FL → IF → VVS → VS → SI → I
Carat
Size FactorCarat is the weight of the diamond. Larger carats cost more, but cut quality affects perceived size. A well-cut 0.9ct can look larger than a poorly cut 1.0ct.
Popular sizes: 0.5ct, 0.75ct, 1.0ct, 1.5ct, 2.0ct
